About

BetStop - the National Self-Exclusion Register™ is a free and secure way to exclude yourself from all online and phone wagering providers licensed in Australia in one go. You can find a list of providers covered on the Australian Communications and Media Authority’s (ACMA) website.

You can register for a minimum of 3 months, up to a lifetime.

Once you have registered, online and phone wagering providers should not:

  • let you open a betting account
  • let you place a bet
  • send you direct marketing, such as emails.

If you have any wagering accounts, providers will need to close them and refund any credit.

Visit our what to expect page to find out more about each stage of the process.

BetStop - the National Self-Exclusion Register does not apply to online casino games or other gambling services that are illegally provided in Australia. You can make a complaint about these services to the ACMA

How does BetStop - the National Self-Exclusion Register work?

If you register, your name is added to our register. To identify whether customers are self-excluded, wagering providers are able to check their customer details against the register.

If the customer details match our records, we advise that wagering provider that the customer is self-excluded.
